Well it is now feeling like fall here and I am not too sure we had a summer this year. August was rather chilly and wet. My courgettes/zucchinis succumbed to mildew. But I did get a few that did make it and that the slugs didn't eat. The tomatoes have been really late this year too. I think that possibly because we haven't had the warm nights to help them grow. But I am not doing too badly with tomatoes now. I have one that is still out on the vine and it is huge!!!! This is just some of the goodies I got out of the garden today. We still have carrots, potatoes and Swiss Chard in the ground, besides more beets.

The green house is full at the moment with my little paper pots of seedlings to be going in this fall for a hopeful winter crop. I will try growing these under the poly tunnel and in our cold frame. The lettuces have been really super and since growing them we haven't bought any in the supermarkets at all. The variety too has been really good by growing our own. Some you can't find at the local grocery store at all.
I am already looking forward to next spring and summer and to try more veg and a few things differently. And have decided not to grow certain ones again. But this is all apart of gardening finding out what works and what doesn't. Some years you have good crops and some you just don't. This was a pretty good year.
